Greater South Cobb Kiwanis – Gift of Play

To celebrate the centennial of Kiwanis International, the Georgia District has committed to giving the “gift of play” to the Matthews Boys and Girls Club here in Mableton. This project is budgeted at $75,000 and local Kiwanis Clubs are working hard to raise the last $10,000 needed.

MIC members and friends have supported the Boys & Girls Club for many years with our Secret Santa program. We are asking all MIC members and friends to consider supporting this Kiwanis Playground effort as well. You can purchase personalized bricks to pave the way for the new playground or sponsor the project with a tax-deductible contribution. Contact Kiwanis with any questions about the project. Consider getting involved with the Greater South Cobb Kiwanis Club, too.

The groundbreaking is set for February 21st at the Club, located at the corner of Floyd and Fontaine Roads. Playground construction will be completed in April. The Boys & Girls Club has provided after-school and summer programming for Mableton children for decades. This playground will give kids more options for healthy, outdoor activity at a time when too many of us, regardless of age, are far too sedentary. Let’s work together to make fun, outdoor play a part of growing up for everyone.
