The Kiwanis Club of Greater South Cobb was launched and chartered on Feb. 8, 2014 with 25 new Kiwanians joining the ranks. We are here to change the world – one child, and one community at a time.
Since our inception we have begun implementing educational and mentorship programs in the community, launching a Key Club program at Pebblebrook High School, Builder’s Club program, planting and beautifying Floyd Middle School and developing other leadership programs that enhance or improve the lives of our children i.e. Terrific Kids & Bring Up Grades (BUGS) programs that teach values such as Respect, Integrity, and Anti-Bullying to our young and impressionable students at Powder Springs Elementary, South Cobb High School, and Harmony-Leland Elementary just to mention a few. Serving the needs of our children IS CRITICAL – one child, one community at at imd just as our motto says. Kiwanis is an international organization, we are currently partnering with UNICEF to eliminate maternal/neonatal tetanus (MNT) from the earth. These are just a few examples of our work.
Our club and charter are the efforts of the founding fathers of the Kiwanis Club of Greater South Cobb who include Lieutenant Governors Ron Davis, Charles Lollis, Governor Charles Hood, Mr. Bob Poe, Warren Kriss, James Tutweiler, and others who have been involved in organizing, recruiting and establishing our Club’s footprint within the Austell, Mableton, and Power Springs communities of South Cobb.
We look forward to serving you and your community as well.
